About HS2

HS2 is Britain's new high-speed railway and one of the most significant additions to the UK rail network in more than a century. The current programme is building a new high-speed connection between London and Birmingham, alongside major work across rail systems, digital signalling, rolling stock, depots and long-term maintenance.

The new fleet of high-speed trains is being designed, built and maintained by the Hitachi-Alstom High Speed joint venture, with manufacturing activity connected to Alstom's site in Derby, Hitachi Rail's site in Newton Aycliffe, and Alstom's site in Crewe. Alongside the fleet, HS2's railway systems bring together digital command, control and signalling, traffic management, telecommunications and security systems, designed to support reliable operations and real-time network monitoring.

For candidates, HS2 is a chance to work on a nationally significant transport programme while building experience across modern rail systems, digital signalling and high-speed rail engineering. That breadth, from fleet manufacturing to systems and signalling, creates demand for specialist engineering, systems, and project delivery expertise throughout the supply chain.

We support HS2 through established relationships across the rail and rolling stock supply chain. Rather than recruiting for every HS2 Ltd vacancy, we work with organisations delivering different parts of the programme, connecting skilled professionals with HS2 rail jobs across rolling stock, infrastructure and rail systems.

How we work

Supporting every stage of HS2 delivery

HS2 brings together specialist expertise from across the rail industry. Our strongest connection is with organisations that deliver rolling stock, signalling, digital systems, and infrastructure, helping skilled professionals build careers across the wider HS2 supply chain.

Rolling stock & fleet delivery

The Hitachi-Alstom High Speed joint venture is delivering the next generation of high-speed trains for HS2, creating opportunities across manufacturing, maintenance, modification, commissioning, warranty support and depot operations. We support roles including Rolling Stock Technicians, Fleet Engineers, Mechanical and Electrical Technicians, Commissioning Technicians, Maintenance Technicians and Team Leaders.

Infrastructure, signalling & systems

Modern high-speed rail relies on sophisticated digital infrastructure. We help organisations find SCADA Engineers, Signalling Engineers, Systems Engineers, Software Engineers, Planning Engineers, Project Engineers, and Design Engineers to support the delivery of HS2 rail systems and infrastructure.

Project & programme delivery

Large-scale rail programmes need experienced project professionals at every stage of delivery. We support Project Managers, Programme Managers, Project Controls professionals, PMO professionals, Planners, Document Controllers and commercial support specialists.

Engineering & technology

From systems integration and digital signalling through to software, telecommunications, and railway technology, HS2 continues to create rolling stock and rail jobs for engineers and technical specialists, shaping the future of UK rail.

How we work

Specialist support across the HS2 rail supply chain

Our focus is on specialist rail, rolling stock, infrastructure, signalling, SCADA, software, systems and project delivery roles across the wider HS2 supply chain, rather than large-volume site labour.

We work with selected organisations delivering different elements of the programme, helping them access the technical and professional skills they need while connecting candidates with opportunities that match their experience.

Specialist rail & technical roles

We support HS2 through organisations across the supply chain rather than acting as a direct recruiter for every HS2 Ltd vacancy. Our strongest connection is to specialist and professional roles across rolling stock engineering, rail systems, signalling, SCADA, software and project delivery.

Built on decades of rail expertise

Our involvement with HS2 continues to develop as the programme progresses through manufacturing, testing, commissioning and maintenance. Behind that work is decades of experience across the rail industry and long-standing relationships with major organisations including Siemens Mobility, Alstom, Hitachi Rail and Stadler Rail.

That wider rail experience helps our teams understand the skills, working environments and recruitment processes involved in specialist rail roles.

Helping you find your place in the supply chain

Many people search for HS2 rail jobs without realising the role actually sits with a supply chain organisation, rather than HS2 Ltd itself. We help candidates understand where a role fits within the programme, who they'd be working for and what to expect from the recruitment process. That can include role-specific onboarding, right-to-work checks or documentation, which vary depending on the employer, role and location.
